National Organic Strategy 2024-2030 is launched
In yet another positive step for the organic sector, Ministers Pippa Hackett and Charlie McConalogue launched the National Organic Strategy 2024-2030 yesterday at the National Ploughing Championships.
Over the last 2 years, Organic Trust have worked with various Strategy Forum members including industry partners such as Flahavans, Good Herdsman, Glenisk and Irish Country Meats to name a few, and with all other partners involved in the sector such as the Agricultural Consultants Association, Teagasc, Bord Bia, National Organic Training Skillnet, Organic Growers Ireland, the Irish Farmers Association and of course with the Department of Agriculture, Food & The Marine and the Office of Public Procurement.
This means that the whole organic sector was involved with creating this strategy and have an agreed approach on the growth and direction of organics in Ireland for the coming years. It is fantastic to see this strategy being launched and it is one which is very ambitious for the continued growth of the sector up to 2030. The Strategy Forum are now focusing on the implementation of this strategy, with action plans and timelines being agreed by all parties.
