Organic Farming Scheme Re-Open for Applications - Organic Trust Accepting Applications NOW!

News | 01 Dec 2015

The Minister of State Tom Hayes TD has just launched the second tranche of the new Organic Farming Scheme (OFS).

The live system for applications opened on http://www.agfood.ie on Wednesday 2nd December and will remain open for applications until midnight on 31 December, 2015.  The Organic Farming Scheme (OFS) is an on-line application process, therefore,  if farmers are not currently registered on-line, the first requirement is to become registered NOW at http://www.agfood.ie

While the selection criteria for this new tranche will prioritise existing contract holders, this new tranche will also give new entrants to organic farming the opportunity to apply for the Scheme.

Therefore, the Organic Trust is now accepting applications for new entrants to the scheme.  All application documentation can be downloaded from this website - simply click on the .pdf document below, complete the documentation specified and return same to the Organic Trust office together with the items indicated on the checklist provided.  Alternatively, if you prefer hard-copy information, simply phone our office on 01 8530271 or email .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) (providing your name, address and mobile number) and you will be provided with a free application pack which contains all relevant documentation including the standards manual.  Assistance can be provided by Helen, Aisling and Brian in the office if required.

If you wish to apply for payment under the Organic Farming Scheme, the following sequence of events applies:

• You must be registered on http://www.agfood.ie (if not already registered)
• You must apply to the Organic Trust for an organic licence – on receipt of your application, the Organic Trust will register you with the Organic Unit of the Department which only then allows you to make your on-line OFS application
• You must have completed or plan to complete by 31.08.2016 the Fetac Level 5 Compulsory Organic Course (places will be available on courses being run by Organic Trust - phone or email for details 01 8530271 or .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address))
