SOIL HEALTH & SOIL MICROBIOLOGY: Monday July 23rd at 2pm on the farm of Pat and Denis Booth, Killone, Stradbally, Co Laois. We are delighted to have the expertise of renowned soil microbiologist Dave Beecher at this workshop, which will look at the role microbes play in soil health, how to make an assessment of your own soil and its microbial activity and strategies which work towards the improvement of your soil: pertinent topics for all organic farmers!
ANIMAL WELFARE & VETERINARY CARE IN AN ORGANIC SYSTEM: Monday 13th August at 2pm on the farm of John Hurley, Castle Hillhouse, Knockalaughta, Ballintubber, Castlerea, Co Roscommon. On this occasion, veterinary surgeon and Organic Trust farmer John Robinson will address animal health issues and useful practices in an organic system. John will focus his presentation on prevention, good planning, strategic parasite control and the new mutilation regulations.
