If you intend to convert to organic farming as soon as the Organic Farming Scheme re-opens to new entrants, you will be required to undertake an Organic Production Course - Fetac Level 5. We have been informed by Teagasc that the waiting list for the next organic courses is now available on their website via this link: https://www.teagasc.ie/rural-economy/organics/training/ It is suggested that interested operators put their name on the waiting list for the next Fetac Level 5 course to be run - in that way some of the pre-requisites to draw down payments under the Organic Farming Scheme can be fulfilled in advance. It is anticipated that exact locations and dates will be determined from Spring 2018 onwards and those on the waiting list will be contacted first.
