The Organic Unit of DAFM have now approved the use of a copper-based fungicide in organic production in Ireland for the control of plant pests and diseases.
Further to our previous communication whereby licensees were informed that the use of copper for the control of plant pests and diseases in organic production was suspended until further notice, we have now been informed by the Organic Unit of DAFM that one specific copper product has now been approved for use in organic production in Ireland.
Therefore, the suspension has been lifted, however, it is important to point out that the attached copper product is the sole product currently approved for use in Ireland for the control of plant pests and diseases in organic production.
The specific product details are contained in the attached communications from DAFM and are effective immediately.
