Altidore Farm - Philip Emmet.

Prior to registering into certified organic production in 1994, Altidore Farm and Castle had been farmed with the very minimum of artificial inputs for many years. Philip Emmet now farms Altidore Farm and produces certified organic beef and lamb for commercial sale - all certified by Organic Trust Ltd. The organic beef and lamb produced on Altidore Farm are sold at an organically certified local butchers Farrelly's Butcher In Delgany village Co Wicklow

Philip Emmet has a comprehensive knowledge of homeopathy and the homeopathic treatment of animal ailments.  He has written articles for Clover - the quarterly journal for the professional organic producer published by the Organic Trust and uses homeopathy in the management of his organic flock and herd.

Altidore Castle itself is a Georgian Castle House owned by the Emmet family, descended from the United Irishman, Thomas Addis Emmet. On view at the Castle are historic Emmet papers, portraits and possessions including those of The Patriot Robert Emmet. 

Opening Times March 1st-20th and May 1st-June 17th, 1 pm to 5 pm. Prior notice appreciated.

The house and grounds are also open to groups and societies throughout the year by appointment.
